Our story of the week was Elmer and the Rainbow. One day, Elmer noticed that the colours have disappeared from the rainbow. All the friends of the forest went to search for it and managed to find all the colours behind the waterfall. Have you seen a rainbow recently? Which is your favourite colour?

We did not see a rainbow this week in nursery but had lots of fun jumping in puddles outside. We went to explore the biggest and the smallest puddles, discovered the deepest one in the sandpit and watched the ripples on the surface!

This week children have been exploring and matching colours, and mixing water with corn flour to make some sticky, slimy goop. During maths we have been counting things you cannot touch, such as claps, jumps, hops, stomps or even sounds from a tambourine. Can you challenge your family to count how many steps it takes to get to school?

Part of our Lunar new year celebrations we have been dancing with ribbons and scarves for some beautiful music. Next week we will be reading the story of the Great Race and perhaps taste some delicious food from China, Vietnam and Korea. Please send us some pictures if you are celebrating with your family!

Remember to pack waterproof clothes and wellies for your child/children. We aim to go outside in all weather and children will need to wear appropriate clothes to do so.

It is Family Friday on 16th February, you are welcome to join us at 2.30 pm to look at your child’s special book with them.
