This term we learn all about Traditional Tales and Fairy tales. Our first was The Three Little Pigs . This is a traditional tale and has a longer story line. This makes it a challenge to re-tell! It has a number of repeating phrases the children love to say like  “I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house down!”  We talked a lot about materials – straw, sticks and bricks and which one might be good to build a house out of. Children made different buildings using big foam bricks, nexus blocks and wooden blocks. Can you guess what was the hardest to demolish?

Children also loved the new songs about the pigs building a house, you can find an online version of the story here: Bing Videos

During our Maths session we are comparing sizes. We sorted many objects into different bowls, big, medium and small. Have a treasure hunt around your home to try and find objects that are the same kind but different sizes. Have you got 3 different sized seats? Do you have 3 different sized balls? Upload your photo on Tapestry so we can share them with the class.

We have been feeling and tasting different kinds of vegetables during our small group time. Some children choose some eye masks to cover their eyes to only use their hands to feel smooth, bumpy, short, long and cold vegetables. Can you play the game at home with your family and guess the vegetables? You can always try to taste some too! Send us a photo of your favourite veg!

Gentle reminder to apply suncream in the morning on sunny days and bring in a hat. Children are guided to reapply their suncream after lunch.

Have a great weekend!
