Meadows started this week with a big splash.

Children have been busy learning how to stay safe while playing on a rainy day. We encourage children to change into their wellies independently and put their coats on by themselves. Having an awareness that they need to adapt their behavior in this new slippery and less safe environment is crucial for their learning and future development.

We have continued with our building site theme, using our imagination to create and develop problem solving. Children have been using mortar to bind building blocks together and what a fabulous time they had! Yes, we have this incredibly special mortar in the class called shaving cream! 😊

Children have been interested in car ramps, where different textures have come to challenge our thinking. Why is the car slower on the carpet-like ramp? Why is it faster on the smooth one?

Have a lovely weekend

Notices

As the weather is changing and we are getting more rainy weather, we would be very grateful for extra spare clothes you could donate to our nursery, like trousers and socks, in particular. If you can, we would also like you to bring some wet wipes and waterproof overalls for your child so that we can reduce wet play accidents.
