This week we enjoyed a wonderful trip to Wicken Fen. It was great to see the Fenlands in person and build on what we had already learned about them in the classroom. The children were fantastic, and they especially enjoyed pond dipping! Thank you to the parent volunteers on this trip – we couldn’t have pulled it off without you.
Maths
This week in maths we revised reasoning questions and next week will be starting are unit on time. In preparation follow this link to practice telling the time.
English
In English, we focused on applying the skills we’ve developed throughout the year to our personal writing projects. We have also been using these projects to help children become familiar with the writer’s process as they need to know if they are planning, drafting, revising, editing or publishing!
Phonics
In phonics, we focused on the /k/ sound and reviewed the /h/ sound.
Design and Technology
This term in design and technology children will be designing and making their own animal puppets for a puppet show. This week we looked at lots of different types of puppets and discussed how they were made.
