We have had a lovely week back and have been incredibly impressed with the children’s dedication to their learning. We have been spotting the school values everywhere! In English, we have been looking at poetry. In Maths, we have been recapping perimeter and area. We have also launched our new topic: Biomes. In Art we began exploring our biome topic. We were looking at different plants in the rainforest, focusing on their shape and composition. We started by exploring these features in different medias, we then created our own plant inspired stamps – we are excited to use these next week!
This term we are lucky to have a specialist cricket coach teaching us. The children had there first lesson this week and it was great to see them applying the skills we have previously been learning.
Maths/Spelling

In Spelling we have been focusing on polysyllabic words (words with two syllables). Some words to practice are: beautiful, machine, science, grammar
Next Week
English: we will continue using ‘Rhythm of the Rain’ to inspire us. This time we are going to be focusing on narrative, looking at the journey of water. We are going to continue looking at commas and paragraphs.
Maths: we are looking at multiplying by 10 and 100.
Science: we are going to be exploring gases and beginning to look at their properties.

Notices/ Reminders
Just a friendly reminder that all children need to have a full PE kit in school, we teach PE outside so please ensure that PE kits include warmer clothing if needed. Currently, all Year 4 classes have PE on a Tuesday and Wednesday.
