In Phonics, we focused on the <ow> sound spelt /ow/ or /ou/ for example: out, down, now, about, how, round, shout, around, our
In English, we continued to focus on using adjectives and verbs. The focus text was ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea.’ Children enjoyed creating another story map similar to ‘Traction Man’ but changing the characters. They then went on to create their first story.
In Maths, we learnt about addition and subtraction.
During Art with Mrs Smith, we thoroughly enjoyed working with various media to create Christmas cards.
Next Term

New Project: Project in the first half of the spring term is Fire! Fire! The great fire of London in 1666 BBC Teach: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSH81jl-uAk
English: Fire related vocabulary and create a fire inspired mood board /collage
Maths: Subtraction, focusing on the inverse.
Other Information
Please take your child’s P.E kit home for wash and ensure it is returned clearly labelled.
We will be sending home a ‘reading for pleasure book’ and will resume with phonics books on return in the spring term.
IMPORTANT: School will close at the earlier time of 1.30pm on Wednesday 21st December.
School will re-open on Thursday the 5th January 2023.
