Ms Simren Johal – I’m currently teaching the Acorns class in Reception and also serve as our phonics lead, which I absolutely love! My academic journey began at the University of York, where I studied English Language and Linguistic Science. After graduating, I spent time in the private education sector, managing tutors and helping to shape educational programmes, before completing my PGCE at the University of Worcester. This varied experience has given me a real passion for early years education, and I’m particularly interested in developing a curriculum that’s inclusive and advocates for anti-racist practice in our classrooms.

Outside of school, I’m always on the move – whether that’s through Pilates, running, or exploring nature!
I also love unwinding with some baking, yoga and spending quality time with family and friends! Getting lost in a good book, or planning my next holiday is my favourite thing to do and I am always up for an adventure!
