Mrs Kat Bates – With nearly 20 years of teaching experience across UK schools and an international school in Singapore, I am a dedicated educator specialising in inclusive education and special educational needs. I hold a degree in Primary Education with a SEND specialism from Canterbury Christ Church University and have been part of the UCPS team since 2017 in various capacities.
Currently, I serve as SENDCO for EYFS and Key Stage 1, Designated Teacher for Looked After and Previously Looked After Children, and recently qualified as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (2024). I am passionate about creating inclusive environments where every child can flourish, believing that with the right support and innovative practices, we can find a way through for all learners. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, working closely with children, families, teachers, and specialist advisors to ensure personalised support for every child.
Outside of school, I love travelling and exploring the world, spending quality time with my children, and discovering the wonders of nature together.
