Mrs Bryony Wooldridge – I currently work as the EAL coordinator at UCPS. This means that I support children with English as an additional language at our school. Around 50% of our school community speak at least one other language at home, which I think is one of the huge strengths of our school. I spend my time with children who need some extra help with their English, sometimes one to one or in small groups. I also offer advice to teachers, learning coaches and families on how best to support all of the EAL children across the school. We have new students starting almost every week and I am lucky enough to meet them when they first arrive and support them as they settle in, especially if they need a bit of extra support.
Before working here, I taught English in international school across Europe and the UK, teaching all ages from 4-80! I was also head of education for the London Film Festival and worked at the British Film Institute – in fact my degree is in Film Production and English. I went to earn a Diploma in English Language teaching which allowed me to move into teacher training, academic resource writing and educational website design.
In my free time I love to travel, visiting friends and family around the world. I love skiing (when I get the chance) and I watch far too many TV shows and films!
