Mr Konstantinos Kosmatopoulos

Mr Konstantinos Kosmatopoulos – Hello and welcome! Konstantinos here, although everyone in school calls me Mr K! Born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece, I gained a degree in English Language and Literature with a teaching qualification in 2014. Two years later, I was presented with an opportunity to visit Cambridge for the first time; the experience left such a strong impression on me that I decided to move there in 2018. My hope was to get a better understanding of the way the educational system works in the UK and integrate into it, something that came along much sooner than expected, when I was offered a position on the UCPS team in November 2019.

Ever since then I have been an active member of the school community, offering valuable support and advice where needed. Working with children has always been one of my main goals in life, despite the challenges that naturally arise; besides, it is only by braving those same challenges that not only our learners, but also us teachers grow and evolve, ever pushing past any self-imposed limits on our common journey towards the unknown…

When not contributing to shaping the leaders of the future, I relish the occasional board- or role-playing game to pass the time with good company! An avid reader since childhood, one might find me browsing the various bookstores in town, sometimes for hours on end, always on the hunt for new thrills through the marvel that is literature! Walking through the city of Cambridge is also a much favourable pastime of mine, weather permitting, taking the time to appreciate the beauty of nature that is so sorely lacking in my own hometown of Thessaloniki.
